Kansas became a state on January 29, 1861. In honor of Kansas Day, we have a display of Kansas books that will be out this month. I have been told the "Kansas Bootleggers" by Patrick G. O'Brien and Kenneth J. Peak is very interesting. A patron sat down and read the book while he was here.
For the kids 18 and under we will have the I Spy: Kansas Day contest. Each child can get their name in a drawing up to 3 times for a candy gift bag. 1: Get all the answers correct 2: Put their name on the paper 3: Color neatly
We will hang the pictures up until the end of the month.
The drawing will be Thursday, January 30 at 5:30PM.

There is a vacant library board position. The term expires in April 2026. If you live in Osage Township and are interested in serving, please send a letter of interest to books@ckt.net or Box 73 McCune, KS 66753. Please have your letter turned in on February 7 by
12:00 PM. We also invite anyone interested to attend our next board meeting that same date at
6:00 PM.

There will be an Osage Township Meeting on Thursday, January 16 at 6PM. The Township meetings will be held at the library in the hall.
